EBA pursues to become a leading Alliance in Europe on bioengineering research. The purpose is to cover all the necessary research lines seeking for Technical Innovative Solutions for the European Health Challenges.
EMPHASIS ON ELDERLY PEOPLE
Among the wide branch of activities that are involved in the bioengineering field, EBA has placed emphasis on elderly people. That is why EBA has a special focus on common illnesses that elderly people suffer such as cardiovascular diseases, Dementia, Alzheimer, Parkinson or Cancer.
UNIVERSAL/LOCAL
Not only is necessary the involvement of technical and medical partners, but also different centres coming from different countries. EBA is aware of the necessity of the study of the local applicability of the innovative solutions, due to the fact that technology is universal but applications are local. These centres develop universal but locally applicable technologies that should be adaptable not only to the idiosyncrasy and legislation, but also to other issues such as the climate or the culture.
Therefore, EBA has selected suitable partners so that different European features are represented, from north to south Europe.
